At God's Rolling Thunder we are a small tribe of God fearing, Jesus loving followers. We’re more than a church; we’re a family—broken yet united by faith and committed to lifting one another up as we follow Him together.

We attempt to worship without pretense — whether with respect to our outward attire or our inner brokenness.  We don't believe it is about the building we gather in or the clothes we wear—what matters is coming together with open hearts to worship our Savior, Jesus Christ.

No matter where you come from or what you look like, we invite you to join us in that same spirit!

What to Expect

We understand that finding a new church can be overwhelming, and visiting a new place for the first time can be stressful. That’s why we want to make sure you know exactly what to expect when you visit God's Rolling Thunder. From the moment you walk through the door, you’ll be greeted with warmth and kindness by our welcoming congregation.

Our services are designed to be comfortable and inviting, blending contemporary and traditional elements with a Jesus-focused approach. You can expect biblically-based, practical sermons that apply God’s Word to your everyday life. No matter where you’re at in your journey, we’re here to help you feel at home and grow in your faith.

Service begins with a time of worship. Worship is our way of expressing gratitude and devotion to God through song. But it’s not just about the music – it’s about creating space for God to transform our hearts as we reflect on His goodness and faithfulness. In these moments, we let go of our daily worries and focus solely on worshiping Him, allowing His presence to refresh and renew us.

Each sermon is firmly rooted in biblical truth and designed to be practical and relevant to everyday life. We focus on both Jesus and the Word of God, offering teachings that help guide and strengthen your faith. Whether it’s through a message of encouragement, challenge, or wisdom, our goal is to make God’s Word come alive in a way that is meaningful and applicable to your personal journey. We strive to equip everyone with the tools and understanding needed to live out their faith in the world around them.

We close out each service with a prayer circle to bring us together in unity and strengthen our sense of community. It allows everyone to join in collective prayer, lifting up individual and shared concerns, as well as offering thanks and praise. It provides an intimate space for people to pray for one another, offering support and encouragement. It also helps to end the service on a spiritual note, reminding everyone of the importance of prayer in daily life. By holding hands in unity, we demonstrate the strength of fellowship and the power of prayer as a shared practice to lift up both personal and collective needs to God.

  • What time does service start
Our service is held at 10 AM every Sunday in the Main Sanctuary of God's Rolling Thunder located at 947 Bailey Rd, Woodstock, GA 30188. Don't worry if you didn't have time for your "morning joe" - coffee and snacks are available before and during the worship service.
  • What does a typical service look like?
A typical Sunday service lasts 60-75 minutes, and contains worship singing together, a Bible-based sermon, and a closing prayer circle. We’re an outgoing group and believe in creating a loving environment, so expect someone to say hi, introduce themselves, and even give you a welcoming hug.
  • What should I wear?
We are truly a "come as you are" church. Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable - jeans, t-shirts, shorts, sneakers, whatever. We care about you and your relationship with Jesus, not the clothes you wear.
  • What is the worship style like?
Our worship style is a unique blend of contemporary and traditional elements, designed to create an atmosphere where people of all backgrounds can connect with God. Our live band plays both modern music with timeless hymns, allowing for a worship experience that speaks to both the heart and the soul. Our focus is always on Jesus—His love, His teachings, and His sacrifice. Whether through upbeat, contemporary songs or more reflective, traditional hymns, our worship is centered around honoring Him and drawing closer to His presence. We believe in creating an environment that fosters both passionate praise and quiet reflection, so everyone can encounter Jesus in a way that’s meaningful to them.
  • Do you have any community outreach or support services?
Yes. We offer a food pantry and a clothing pantry to help meet the practical needs of those in our area. Additionally, God's Rolling Thunder hosts support services like Al-Anon, AA, and group grief counseling to help individuals and families find healing and hope. Visit our Resources page for more information. Our goal is to be a place where everyone can receive the care, support, and encouragement they need, no matter what they’re facing.
  • Can I bring my children?
Absolutely! At God's Rolling Thunder we believe that the family is a child’s first place of ministry, and we strive to reinforce the nurture kids receive within their own families and further support them as they grow to know Jesus personally. Children can remain with you during service or you can drop them off with our Children's ministry where our Sunday School Children's leader will help them develop their natural curiosity into a love for God. We are committed to loving our littlest ones well while they are under our care.
  • Do I need to bring anything with me?
Just yourself and an open heart.

None of us have it all together.  We are a congregation that shows love to those people who are open about being "Not Fine" and those who may not be there just yet. So, whether you're looking for a new church community or visiting us with family or friends, we hope you leave feeling cared about and loved.
